:police_car_light: Open Data & Innovation are delighted to announce the publication of NSW Road Network Categorisation spatial data!!

State and Regional roads across NSW are now available in several spatial formats with an interactive map to quickly view the data.

Open Data have collaborated with several teams across transport, including Road Asset Management, Asset Information & Enterprise Geospatial. As one of the most requested datasets from Open Data users, weā€™d like to thank all involved their tireless work!

Thanks so much for publishing! A few ideas: now could be a good time to update the dataset (a colleague just pointed out that the M12 has opened since); it could be good to include ā€œclassified roadsā€ in the description so it comes up in search as a lot of people will search for it like that; and it would be great to publish more data on here using Geopackage as there are serious issues with shapefiles as a file format.

HI @aa-dr, thanks for your message - Road Network Categorisation dataset has been updated! Iā€™ve also added classified roads in the tags so that people can find it easier.
We will have a chat to our Geospatial friends to see what we can do about creating the ā€˜geopackageā€™ format on Open Data.
