NSW Road Network with Road Classifications

I need a GIS capable dataset of the NSW Road Network that indicates:

  1. Road Classification (e.g. State, Regional, Local).
  2. Surface (Sealed and unsealed as a minimum).
  3. Whether the road is open to traffic (i.e. not behind a locked gate).

If it is a problem, I can do without local roads.

This request is similar to: Road Netwrok data request

The end result could be like: Road Network Class

The Road Segment Layer from Spatial Services (also referred to as LPI) is not suitable for the following reasons:

  1. It has many roads that are behind locked gates in places like National Parks recorded as Local Roads and no attribute that distinguishes these from public local roads.
  2. It does not have an attribute that indicates whether a road has State or Regional Classifiction.

Hi @PhilipWhitten

Open Data are currently exploring options to display spatial data on Open Data Hub, including Road Classification data. We will keep you informed on how we’re going.

In the meantime, you could use the following resource:

Thanks!

I have worked out that I can download the Transport for NSW classifed roads from the following link: https://tfnsw.carto.com/u/rms-uat/tables/ds_core_classified_roads/public
