May we know how the seed funding pools have been split for previous challenges? I don’t need to know the exact $ and to which recipient. I’m looking for something like:

  • Challenge A, recipient A: 10%
  • Challenge A, recipient B: 20%
  • Challenge A, unused: 70%
  • Challenge B, …

Thanks

May we know what the common excuses are for drivers who park in clearways at clearways times?

Does our submission need to address all the problem statements, or any of the problem statements? I can understand that addressing all of them will be looked upon favorably, but can a submission addressing only one or two be eligible to reach the pitch day stage?

Will the other pitchers (or the public) be able to see all the pitches, or will each pitch be private?

Can you share with us any existing solutions (including non-digital ones) that already address some of the problem statements?

hi @jayen – please come along to the Information Session. The SMEs will be able to answer these questions and more!

With regards to the pitch day - it will likely be an open pitch day however we can confirm this after we start seeing some submissions.

Thanks. I have a ticket for the session and intend to come. I’m just likely to forget to ask all my questions so I am listing them here.

I had some of the same questions. I’m Melbourne based, so don’t think I’ll be able to make the info session. I’d be grateful if someone could call them out during the recorded part of the session.

Does TfNSW make any attempt to call or SMS the mobile number (e.g. question 1 on the licence form) of the registered vehicle owner before towing? Would TfNSW be willing to use their customer database to send notifications on behalf of an app? If not, would TfNSW be willing to include an opt-in checkbox for tow notifications on future vehicle registration forms?

Does TfNSW have an API to provide details of where individual vehicles are towed to? If not, is there any possibility to request that tow truck operators enter this into an app? What is the average and maximum distance that a vehicle has been towed to reach the nearest parking spot?

How many clearway signs currently contain the TMC number to call? Would TfNSW be willing to add a QR code to clearway signs (e.g. a sticker on the back of each sign) to make it easier for people who can’t find their car to lookup information?

I can’t find the “NSW Clearways” ESRI shapefile mentioned in the competition. Has this been released yet, or is it only going to be publicised after pitch day?

I couldn’t find any information in the terms and conditions on who is allowed to enter. Could you please confirm if the innovation challenge is open to all Australians, or just for NSW residents?

How does the current system work? As in, how does the information flow between the tow truck contractor, TMC, and the car owner/driver?

Hi @anjsimmo, we’ll line up your questions at the information session so they’re included in the recording. I’ll answer a few of the more straight forward ones now:

The data for the challenge will be released in time for the information session. We will have it published late tomorrow.

Anyone can enter the challenge as long as you don’t work for TfNSW or RMS.

We’ll answer the rest of the questions posted in this thread at the information session.

Thanks,
Alex
