Southwest Link - making way for Sydney Metro

The T3 Bankstown Line between Sydenham and Bankstown will shutdown from 30 September 2024 for up to 12 months in order to get the line ready for Metro.

  • Southwest Link buses (SW1, SW2, SW3) will provide high frequency services between Sydenham and Bankstown stations for up to 12 months.
  • New T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line train service starts.
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line train service introduced from Liverpool to the City via Lidcombe.

Sydney Trains GTFS data should now have new T6 line and updated T3 services.

Please be advised:

  • The T6 line starting on Monday 30th September will be postponed.
  • Sydney Trains will update their data shortly to remove the T6.
  • T3 rail replacement buses will run between Bankstown and Lidcombe to compensate for T6 until further notice.
