In Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, the Hunter and the Illawarra area, fares are calculated based on the distance travelled from tap on to tap off, payment method, the mode of transport, concession eligibility (or free travel) and any Opal benefits such as discounts and capped fares that apply.
Noticed a potential issue with the Fare Values data for Stockton Ferry. The data indicates there is an off-peak fare, however, the existing Trip Planner API and fare table on the transportnsw.info only lists one fare type (no off peak).
Thanks. The old Trip Planner API calculator is returning peak fares only whereas the new fare calculator not available on Open Data is returning peak and off-peak fares.
To clarify and confirm, my understanding:
the old Trip Planner API fare calculations were incorrect (they always returned peak fares)
