504/503 from departures API

Hey,

I have a website (https://www.livetransit.com.au) that uses the departures endpoint at https://api.transport.nsw.gov.au/v1/tp/departure_mon to retrieve train departures. In the past week I’ve observed a few 504/503s from the endpoint between 3am and 5am.

Is the API behind the load balancer/reverse proxy highly available? No big deal since the website isn’t used a lot but just thought I’d bring this to attention

Hi @jacobsalway

Thanks for your message.

I’ve checked in the team and they have confirmed they’ve seen these outages. At this stage they’re not too concerned, especially since there’s not too much activity at this time. However they are actively monitoring given it’s happened a few times recently.

Cheers,
Marcela

Hey just flagging I saw ~10 minutes of 503 Service Unavailable both yesterday and today. Not a problem for me since my website is just a hobby project, so happy to just mute my alert/increase its tolerance but I tested and noticed the trip planner in the Opal app also timed out
