GTFS Schedule data for Rail Replacement

Hi Team,

I’m trying to locate which GTFS zip current rail replacement / temporary bus schedule data is located?

These relate to routes 10T1, 23T8, 34T1, 35T1, 40T7, 61SC and 62SC. These are for the services operated by private/charter operators.

A selection from services operating today with route and trip_id. I haven’t been able to locate these trip id’s in any of the scheduled GTFS zips.

generally most rail replacement schedule data will be found here:

https://api.transport.nsw.gov.au/v1/gtfs/schedule/buses/ReplacementBus

and we also have:

https://api.transport.nsw.gov.au/v1/gtfs/schedule/buses

Both include the same replacement/temporary busing that can be tracked in realtime.

Realtime endpoints are:
https://api.transport.nsw.gov.au/v1/gtfs/realtime/buses
https://api.transport.nsw.gov.au/v1/gtfs/vehiclepos/buses

You may have seen another static bundle called Complete GTFS Timetables:

https://api.transport.nsw.gov.au/v1/publictransport/timetables/complete/gtfs

This dataset includes all Transport routes (bus,ferry, trains. LR) plus the rail replacement buses mentioned above AND any rail replacement/temporary busing that does not have realtime. This generally is a small number of routes.

Hi Marcie,

Thanks for the reply. I’m consuming both the ReplacementBus and buses zip’s and have checked the complete zip also but I’m not matching the trips for these routes. These zips only seem to have data for the contracted region operators, not private/charter operators who are currently operating the T7 replacement services.

Is there a way to verify these services are been published in the scheduled data as they are appearing the real-time feeds.

Posting a follow up to this - there is still no published schedule data for any private operators who operate rail replacement - these are all operators grouped under the agency “train replacement bus operators”

This weekend saw 49T1, 46T2, 2BM, 90T1, 49T1 operated by private operators using trip id’s that have not been published in any of the static GTFS zip files.
