Trip_headsign field is empty

I’ve come across an issue in the trips.txt file where the trip_headsign field is empty for some entries. I’m wondering if this is a data anomaly or if there’s a specific reason for these empty values.

Has anyone encountered this before? Is it normal, or should I be concerned about a potential data issue?

Hi,

For the Complete GTFS dataset, empty trip_headsigns will only appear for private services (such as private buses, coaches or ferries), but not for all.

For the Sydney Trains GTFS dataset, empty trip_headsigns will only appear for trips with no listed stops, such as shunting movements.
