This data is provided by Bus Australia and provides known bus operator fleets in Australia. The information provided covers the various regions in each state, and the list of operators in each region. Detailed information about each operator is also available including full fleet listing, fleet summary, livery summary, buses to be delivered and disposal lists.

Where are we expected to obtain information to match bus regos to fleet numbers, operators, depots and capacity? The Bus Australia fleet lists admin has stated that they do not wish for the data to be used as it is ‘copyright’ and that information should be ‘source[d] … from another website”. I believe that this is the most relevant location to ask about this, or should a ‘Request for data’ post have been made? This information should be available from Open Data so that such information isn’t limited to a select few apps.

You can obtain the registration details from the Vehicle Position API (https://api.transport.nsw.gov.au/v1/gtfs/vehiclepos/buses).
