# Make Direct Download Backward Compatible With Transdev

Maintaining backward compatibility with old Transdev link to the full sydney area link would be helpful (as a well as a best practice).

Currently, the data is the same but there is no support for automated processes to authenticate to monitor and download the file as existed at transdev.

Any chance you can set up basic authentication for:

We are looking at ways of setting up … more basic authentication yes… We’ll advise when there is something available.

btw Assume you are referring to TDX

I have the direct download via the api gateway working now (with HEAD request for update monitoring), so this isn’t an important issue for me anymore.
