I’m a university student currently completing a reliability analysis on the Chatswood-Central corridor and investigating the positive impact of extending the metro, but was wondering if there was any space to access historic actual running times for the T9 train from Chatswood to Leppington (and back)? I have been able to access scheduled times and punctuality statistics, but was wondering if there was any way I could have access to the actual running time data? I would only need it for a short time period - just the month of July 2024 - as it’s the month before the metro’s opening. I don’t intend to do anything else with the data, its purely just to support my thesis. Happy to reach out in other ways.
Thanks for reaching out - your project sounds really interesting.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any additional historical data stores available that provide actual running time data at that level of detail. The datasets you’ve already found (scheduled times and punctuality statistics) are the main historical sources we can point to.
For reference, the best available Open Data resources we can suggest are:
Hi @JonathanBerry,
for more granular data for your thesis, you could submit a Government Information Public Access (GIPA) request - all the information related to the GIPA process is here Access to information | Transport for NSW
Having said that historical realtime data for 2024 might not be available
