Please be advised that there will be two mapping changes to GTFS Service Alerts relating to Accessibility & Sydney Trains Special Event cause and effect.
What is happening?
- All Lift & Escalator Alerts currently displayed as:
“cause”: “MAINTENANCE”
“effect”: “UNKNOWN_EFFECT”
will be changed to:
“cause”: “MAINTENANCE”
“effect”: “ACCESSIBILITY_ISSUE”
- Sydney Trains Special Events alert mapping currently displayed as:
“cause”: “HOLIDAY”
“effect”: “SIGNIFICANT_DELAYS”
will be changed to
“cause”: “OTHER_CAUSE”
“effect”: “SIGNIFICANT_DELAYS”
When is this happening?
Changes will be effective Monday, 16 Feb 2026
What does this mean for me?
The change will ensure that these alerts are correctly classified so that downstream consumers can display them appropriately in their products.
