apologies for the delay - I’ve been on leave! I received an email while I was away to say that:
‘Skidata did some works at the car parks that caused the open data outage’.
I believe it took a few days to come back online. Hopefully it’s been stable for a while now?
Please be advised that due to necessary electrical works, Park&Ride - Beverly Hills car park will be closed and the system will be offline from Thu 13th to Fri 14th Feb 2025.
Please note there are issues with Penrith car parks - we are investigating.

I’d like to raise an inconsistency issue with the parking occupancy data at Cherrybrook Station. We’ve noticed that during peak hours, the reported occupancy data doesn’t always match the actual availability.
For example, around 17:30 on Friday, both the API and the sign at the car park entrance indicated that the lot was full. However, upon driving in, each level displayed a few available spots, totaling over 10 vacant spaces.
Additionally, we’ve received reports of a similar issue at Tallawong Station. In that case, the sign at the entrance showed available spaces 400 (same as API), but drivers found no spots upon entering.
Could you help investigate this discrepancy?

Hey @Marcie - yes this has been reported by many of my users as well, this week Brookvale car park sign and API showed 8 available spots but actually there was no spots available. Last week as well Ashfield car park showed 65 empty spots and it was full.

please be advised Kogarah car park is having electrical issues and occupancy feed is stale.
Sydney Trains are working on fixing the issue but it may not be resolved until Friday or Monday 31 March.

Please note there is a power disruption at the Schofields Park&Ride car park currently which has caused 1 entry and 1 exit to be locked open.
Some customers may drive out without swiping cards, etc until it is resolved.
We have contacted Sydney Trains electricians to attend to rectify the power supply and am awaiting an ETA.

Also I was contacted again by a user from Brookvale with the same complaint, the sign and the app/API shows 4 available spots while there is no spots available in the car park, looks like it’s occupancy numbers needs to be reset.

Hi @Mohamed, power was restored to Schofields yesterday afternoon. Apologies for the delay.
We’ve received the following response from Park&Ride team about the general inconsistencies between the car park sign/occupancy feed and actual available spots:
The space counters are not always 100% accurate.
This can be to do with tailgating vehicles, slight equipment faults, mismatched regos, etc.
Wilson Parking attend each car park twice a week and adjust the counts where required.
If they are out by a handful (less than 10), this is usually as mentioned above.
@Outlier specific to your query about Tallawong:
Where a site is out by 400, this could be an issue, however we did not have any problems reported for Tallawong.
ParkAid (being the equipment provider) have checked the back-ends of their sites and could not locate any other issues.
@Mohamed I’ll check in with the team again regarding Brookevale.
